Wine Tours Mallorca was born from our passion for wine and the local Mallorcan product, giving the oportunity to guided tours and tastings, where you can learn about the process of Mallorcan wine, making the tasting something different and memorable.
Brief history
of wine in Mallorca
The cultivation and production of wine in Mallorca was introduced by the Romans in the 1st century B.C., and in a short period of time it acquired great value given the unbeatable characteristics of the island:
The Mediterranean climate, the natural barrier of the Sierra de Tramuntana mountain range as a shield from cold winds, clayey agricultural soils capable of retaining optimum humidity for grape growth.

The climate, the Serra de Tramuntana mountain range as a shield, the favourable agricultural soils and the low rainfall make Mallorca an optimal location for planting vines.
There are about 40 autochthonous Mallorcan grape varieties, of which these are the best known and most important red grape varieties: Manto Negro, Callet, Gorgollasa and Escursac or Giro Ros and Prensal Blanc in white grapes.

I went to a cheese and wine evening at the ranch. We were picked up at our hotel (since it’s a small resort, we usually had to walk to a larger hotel for other outings) and taken to a ranch on the outskirts. Excellent wine tasting, generous portions and good knowledge about local wine making
